What is the extent of human desires? Probably, Infinite. But this is one of those scandulous property which makes me believe that I can win over it. Everytime I think I just fulfilled my dream or I got what I always wanted, events shape up in such an unfortunate ways that suddenly makes me question my marathon run. Suddenly, it makes me think "Hang on! I completely missed something."
We run, run and run. After all, as one of my friend said "daudna hi zindagi hai!!", makes sense. The desires and wishes that creep up at unexpected times are largely influenced by our competitors, the terrain and the training taken over our life span. Hence, an obvious-cum-comic clash of thoughts occur which leads us to walk on path designed by ourselves but created by others. It is this sheer inadequacy in ourselves, coupled with inability to handle tough situations which avoids us to leave something mid way and enter into something that seemed as always mine.
I know I own something else. I can only cry over not having it. Probably, this whole thing would keep continuing, as it always has. Or probably one day, I will try to break the shackles and do something which i feel belongs to me, something which completes my existence, something that makes me feel proud of my state of being. I don't know what will happen. I only know that something would happen which would make me feel ME.
The camouflage of my own existence has an ironic characteristic - The inability to spot Myself.
(P.S. The above work is not purely fictional but has no relation with the current state of mind of the author, as many would actually end up believing.)

Long time since i wrote! Something which i feel!
The dormancy had hit hard. With a state of amazing wonderments around, i couldn't realize the distance being created. Though the feeling of ineptitude seldom brings me to this place, i can declare that writing has to be a man's best friend, which can be followed by dog or a bitch, considering no bias for the gender involved.
The place attracts me whenever i am on a virtual tour, but alas, in this world of twitter/cell phones, my thoughts limit themselves, automatically, to 160 words. With a continual habit of getting likes and comments on facebook, my mind has been tuned now to produce pieces which attract thumbs up and make my virtual demand take a step up. Applications take me into a unreal world of idiotic creativity where, for example, i build farms for, god knows, what quantum of production!! Turning into a criminal and expanding your empire seems another comical distraction, often called as expanding social network.
I read someone's status the other day on Facebook - "I am trying to recollect what i used to do before facebook". Strange, it may seem. Stranger, I am trying to recollect what did I do when I didn't have the internet.
I remember playing with the spinning top, carrom, ludo, monopoly, wow. Life was so different! With no online tools, life was like having so many options to choose from. Now after a tough day at office, all i can think of is fbing and meeting people virtually.
Though I console my predilection towards such incongruent activities but i can hardly imagine my existence without the voguish tool. Although i love the fact of a single & universal platform to interact, like a system international in Physics; I doubt the way this virtual world is being shaped up. I feel something is getting lost in order to create something new. I have always preferred amendments over replacements.

Technology and Tendency
The mellifluous voice singing ‘Kabutar ja ja ja’ still makes people in their 30’s and 40’s nostalgic. Pigeon used as a messenger between lovers, for exchanging eloquently written love letters, was what lovers during those days vied for. The two lovers separated due to distance found solace in this super-hit song from the 1989 flick and no wonder the song and the theme became a cult at that period of time.
Come six years later, to the joy of many, Modi Telstra launched first commercial mobile operations in India. The monthly subscriber addition back then was around 50,000 to 1,00,000 and I think that many would have been added in pairs. For lovers, personal communication improved from written letters to spoken words. The sad part: The respect that the ‘kabutar’ managed to accumulate over the years gradually died as people now began to TALK with their partners. Since then, ‘kabutars’ are hardly seen in Hindi movies and worse, someone dumb is referred to as a ‘kabutar’ in the movies. (What disrespect on their part?)
Anyways, this technological phenomenon, called the mobile phone, triggered off another cult: Long distance relationships. People then felt that they could now consider someone far away as a potential living partner and since then the number of long distance relationship have burgeoned. But what has plummeted is the duration of such a relationship which makes me call LDRs rightly a cult. Is the increase in number because of the reduced relationship time? I leave that to someone who specializes in this field. (I intend not to hurt the sentiments of any one who is in a long distance relationship. True love never has any barriers, be it distance.)
I believe technology always plays a big role in the social aspects of our life. I will try to take this whole issue a step ahead. If a simple mobile phone invention could make people compromise on the agony of distance for the voice of their partner over the mobile phone, the wrath of not seeing each other literally for seeing each other idiomatically; then just imagine what Internet, the biggest technological invention of all time, would spark off. Let’s try analyzing that.
People making new friends online, is what Internet managed to kick start initially. With advent of time, we saw online chats, social networking, etc. helping people to find prospective real partners. Nowadays, though the marriage is, thankfully, still real, a virtual marriage over the Internet doesn’t seem far. Just like people have traded voice for distance, similarly they might trade face over the webcam for going out with someone they don’t like. It might take time but we will have such cases. Who knows later we may have innovation in technology which would make people feel each other (internet speed in GB’s) or even have babies online (internet speed in TB’s) after we successfully have had hearing each other (internet speed in KB’s) and seeing each other (internet speed in MB’s).
I think that with technology anything is possible. Advances in technology might change a cult into an accepted approach, who knows? People are always prone to adopt novelty and look beyond the regular options they have got. And Technology gives them just this option to explore the world at a single click and people somehow end up finding ways of taking, well as they say: The best out of it…

Just a thought!!!
I think why do i not know even after i think i know?
I believe there's no God; but before starting anything, why do i include Him?
I fight, fight and fight; but when i know it's nearing the end, why do i give up?
I want to live in dreams; but when i know it's not real, why do i not believe it?
I need solace; but when i find it, why do i want to share it with someone?
I want to achieve greatness; But when i embark, why do i feel lost?
Anything that i desire,
If comes true,
No longer remains a desire.
Worse, It seems it never was a desire.
I hop, hop and hop;
every time more futile the hop feels
every time more pleasure i derive
Indeed i oscillate a great deal.
But i know a thing.
I would keep vacillating
till a day when i will stop and look back
and realize - This is what i was made for-
To trouble myself; for humans have won over everyone.
so the task of keeping me involved in life
had to be a selfish attempt from my side.

A cliched intrigue!!!
In this cosmic equation,
Why am I? I ask I?
The feet walking suddenly stand;
Just like a pebble in a desert sand,
I question the existence;
Irrelevant feels the pertinence -
"The most superior being
is here to just work, eat and sleep?"
The innumerous philosophies
inheriting the innate diplomacies,
Makes me doubt the word identity;
When each man's the same entity.
I am existing without a reason,
Pair of eyes without a vision.
The nouns around give no clue;
The adjectives aren't any true;
I am an exaggeration of naught,
An intellectual without a thought.
Expressions are stabbed every moment,
Paper notes imply body movement;
The multiple self's always have a strife,
Even the dark would be brighter than such a life.
Even the dark would be brighter than such a life.
In this cosmic equation,
Why am I? I ask I?
It seems a mockery, the whole affair a lie;
I am pretending life, but,
I prefer to die.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S
Over the years, i have made some good and some great friends. My intention is not to boast about the prodigious number here, but, someday when i sit and actually think over it, i find too less a person with whom i can relate. To less a person is just an exaggeration of one or two, which goes to prove that i love boasting :P. On a serious note, Its really tough to have a friend who would be as much you as you. You could find the ideal friends in stories and fictional work otherwise called prose, abbreviated form of prosaic meaning dull; in reality, such cases cease somehow. The point that i want to put here is: Who is a friend?
In this world of today, its all about needs. You have a friend for you have a need for it, for you depend on someone for something. Interdependence has literally made us, as one of the english poem says, hollow men. Take it, Having a great group of friends means that few stupid people come together to placate themselves of their biggest fear - 'loneliness'. For me, loneliness is a harsh word, i prefer solitude over it. It's the calmness which makes me overcome the harsh realities of life, do hell with friends who would take up this as a topic for gossiping. After all its your life and interdependence should in no aspect be present. The moment you start depending, you have lost 'You' and hence You would become a part of a gregarious bunch of idiots who try making each other feel special for doing nothing.
There's no person, but you, to whom you can look up for support. Gulp every thought within yourself. Let it flow out only when its hard to digest the meat. For enjoying life, read partying hard, you always have Free-and-Regular-Idiots-Engineered-to-Devour-Stupidness better called as friends. Have fun with them, satisfy your need and move on. Devour yourself..!!! Take out the best out of you. FRIENDS are here to make your life an exaggeration. They are here to make you feel the King of the world. Decide what you want to feel and what you want to achieve out of the ONLY life!!!
P.S. The writer of this blog is after all a social animal..

Nice words!!!
I read it somewhere.. It goes like this
"The world is ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is gonna hit hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now if you know what you are worth, then go out and get what you are worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him or her or anybody. Cowards do that, and that ain't you. You are better than that."
This is called inspiration..

Classs!!!!
In 1 of the sessions in TCS, i was asked to speak my problem in front of 3 people who had their eyes shut. They were supposed to just listen to my problem without commenting on it. Wont have said any personal problems in front of unknown faces. Was thinking hard but could not find a problem to share. The exercise started and i had to speak something. So I closed my eyes 2, and left it all to my inner body. For the first time in my life i realized that there's someone inside me 2, who knows me more than me.
Inner something, i dont know what to call it, started briefing the 3 people around what problem i had. And gosh, i never knew or rather never realized that i had those problems. It/He just went on speaking and believe me, i was a speaker and listener both because i never knew what was going to come next. The moment had me mesmerized and yet i was speaking as if i was completely in control of my senses. Lived two lives for a minute or two.
What is Singularity? Is it the existence, which was my state after those few minutes passed, where i was the only 1 in me or is it the oneness of thought, which was my state during those few minutes, even though i was living two lives during that phase. Guess the later. And seriously, it was enchanting during those few minutes.
The Inner someone is quite strong. Believe me, dont search 4 a Guide outside. You have a great guide inside. I know its a cliche, bt cliches are cliches for a reason... Think over it..!!

The ATM test!!!
Guys, found a great way to know whether you should take a step ahead and propose a girl. Its effective believe me. Take her 2 an ATM and tell her that u are going in 2 withdraw money. Tell her that she can wait outside or can accompany you inside. This is the most important decision that she ll make. If she accompanies you alone 2 ATM, which is closed and has no1 inside except you and her, it implies that she trusts you. Go ahead and propose!!! :)
For those who fail to attract the girl inside, keep trying. Until shes not ready 2 trust when it comes 2 ATM, you are never goin 2 get her!!!!
P.S. Some girls might accompany you inside to see your ATM PIN. Dont be very sure in that case.

Fed-ex inspiration!!!
The stage was set for a great match. You could hardly predict the winner though bookies were more inclined towards the younger, indefatigable man-machine Rafa.It so happened.
What energy and commitment from both players?? Both of them surely believe in the butterfly effect. Right from the word go, their game was impeccable. In the last set, fed lost his touch and Nadal took away the set and the trophy. What followed showed what the game means to an athelete. Roger Federer couldnt stop crying just because he couldnt win the Aus Open. Now i dont remember many such instances where a player who dint win, cried so long. Kambli comes to my mind, when he cried in the 1996 world cup. Federer proved that hes the real ambassador of tennis. The game means lot to him. A man of federer stature, could cry in front of jam-packed Australian crowd. The athlete-whom-Australia-loves-the-most proved why he has a huge fan following. He did manage to speak but again the emotions took over and he left the podium with words "Thank you people, what can i say? I'll come back next year."
The attitude of Federer even made Nadal say "Sorry" for defeating him. :) .. He's by far the best tennis player ever produced by the game. No wonder, why hes loved by the whole world. Even Australians, who are not famous for acknowledging emotions, are the biggest supporter of Federer, following ofcourse Swiss people.
The man needs to be saluted. Federer, i know you are reading my blog (hehe, jokes are permitted in between!!!) and i wish you the bestest of luck for the upcoming Grand slams.
P.S. By the way, i knw that federer kya, no1s readin my blog.. But its fyn..

This is not done!!!
I come home, take dinner and just when i am about to switch on the laptop, i start feeling sleepy. I look at the clock to realize, Oh My God, its 11. Now this isn't the life (i mean a part of life) that anyone would like to have. And that to for 20k. Ya, i know many of you would feel that 20k's a hell lot of money (while the first person who will read this, would discard the statement i know). And everyone here in TCS kolkata is begging for work. So, in plain words, u ll say, m the luckiest person here. But guys, where's d break after a long day's work..
There used to be time when i used to go online, chat with all, hang out with friends. Life was cool. A sudden pause has come to all of that. Hope i get back to some normal work quickly. Its pretty frustrating to be feeling sleepy while surfing, and even while writing this blog. Do pray for me. I know you wont, because you want me stop writing all the bullshit on the blog. You want me 2 understand that this is not my territory. But still i will keep bugging you people. After all, why should only i feel sleepy??? :-)
Cheers.. Sleep well..

Punct(ure)uations!!!
Punctuations!!! Ahh!! The worst part in English, right? I get dragged back to my school days when along with by-hearting the poem, i also by-hearted the punctuations. Commas, Semicolons and Colons; they used to take the hell out of me.
I went through few books where i could find the actual usage of punctuations. Really felt good about punctuations then. So for those who still get confused with the devil of English language, here is the solution.
Colon: It indicates that what follows is the explanation to what precedes it. What precedes the colon should always be a complete sentence and what follows it may be a sentence, a phrase or even a single word.
For ex: One Name dominates indian cricket these days: Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
A colon is never to be followed by a hyphen. A mistake that most of us commit.
A colon can never follow "including". And using including is way better than using a colon, because it would make the statement sound simpler. So a good news for us. But, newaz, the gist is "Try making the statement sound simple".
Semicolon: Its only function is to connect two COMPLETE sentences which meet the following criteria: (1) They are felt to be too closely connected to each other that they cannot be separated by a full stop; (2) they are not joined by any connecting words, such as and, or, but or while; (3) They do not meet the requirements for a colon.
For ex: Men are from Mars; Women from Venus.
However, a sentence like "On 26th November Mumbai was shaken by a horrifying event; the terrorist attack." . Here the required punctuation is a colon.
Comma: It has 4 different uses. Make sure to use comma only in the four below mentioned cases.
(1) It is used to separate a list of items. For ex: x,y,z. Normally a comma never preceeds "and" or "or" unless to avoid ambiguity. For example: My favourite movie is Shall we Dance, You and Me, and Casanova.
(2) It is used as a joining comma when two complete sentences are joined. This is possible only when comma is followed by a suitable connecting word like and, or, but, otherwise, etc. If a suitable connecting word is not present, a comma is not possible, and a semicolon should be used. For ex: A goal in football gives 1 point, while a goal in basketball gives 2 or 3.
(3) The other form is called gapping comma which is used to denote words that have been omitted. For ex: Italy is famous for its Pizzas; India, for its Vada pavs.
(4) the last form is called bracketing comma which sets off a weak interruption to a sentence. For ex: The white tiger, published in 2008, was a best-seller. The statement "published in 2008" is not essential and hence is a weak interruption.
These are the rules with British English. They might vary for American English, but not much. Our English highly influenced by British English and hence this should serve the purpose.
Hope you people don't have hard times understanding and using punctuations now. Happy Punctuating.!!!
Disclaimer: To some it might sound the most boring blog ever read. The author is not responsible,in any way, for the lose of temper resulting anytime while reading.

For all gung-ho people out there!!!
Just to let you know (in case ne1s interested), m busy dese days with philosophers like socrates, pluto and many more. Their theories are pretty logical (although i havn't read much yet) but guess we don't like logical things. Do we? Dese days I pick up a magazine or two everyde (as TCS is paying me for doing nothing) and try reading something interesting. And usual i end up getting something largely interesting. I thought why not to share these facts as it might motivate someone and he/she would finally thank my blog in the TV interview that he/she 'll have after few years(M seriously hoping that).
Newaz, one of the days, i grabbed a mag called Business Today. It carried in itself, list of highest earning executives in India. This is current data regarding their salary, a factual sheet that nullifies the horrible "Global Meltdown". the list starts with, we all know, Mr. Mukesh Ambani who earns 45.52 crores every year. His salary is some 5.5 crores and rest of the 40 crores is his commission on various projects that brand Reliance gets. Followed by Anil Ambani who earns around 30 crores per annum. This includes again 27 crores as his commision for serving various boards. Just imagine the average monthly salary that comes home for these people. Taking Anilbhai's (as hes known in gujarati community) case, if even 30% of income goes away in tax, he still ends up earning just less than 2 crore per month. big sum isnt it?
Ahh, i kept some figures hidden because i wanted to reveal them at the end. The Indian CEO's salaries were compared with few other non-Indian CEO's. Arun Sarin earned around $11.2 million, which at 48 rs equals to a whopping 53.76 crores per annum. Imagine, he gets 4.48 crores every month.
Hang on, the biggest revelation comes now. The company which has become famous off-lately for acquiring all big firms, Oracle, no wonder has the highest paid CEO in the world.. The founder and CEO Mr. Lawrence Ellison (You need 2 respect such people; i mite well end up getting a job due to this salutation :D).. This chap earns $90 million dollars every year, imagine.. This means, at a conversion rate of 48 rs. for a dollar, turns out to be around 432 crores every year, arnd 36 crores every month. Which means, more than a crore rupees every day.. GOD!!!! Give us a few days salary, Mr. Ellison!!! :)
So people out there, get inspired by this blog and forget the recession blues. Its all for the people who think small.. Think big and grow big.. Cheers..!!!!

Wats GoIN on?? WheRE r V heaDin??
I was browsing through different user profiles (jus like a normal orkut user does), a series of similiarity crept amongst them. Often i would find testimonials written wid immaculate english and brilliant words portrayin the person as nothin less dan god. Its was surprising to find a larger no. of profiles with elvis n beatles and without hariharan and jagjit singh. Shakiras n beyonces were seen in every profile, could never c lata mangeshkar or asha bhosle. I could never find shri shri ravishankar or hariprasad chaurasiya but definitely found a linkin park or korn within the profiles.
I wondered as to where, as indians, are we leadin? Reading a munshi premchand is down market, a sidney sheldon is a gr8 choice. The sweet sound of the harmonium has been now limited to beggars in the local trains, while the young man of 2de loves the guitar. We are not sure abt the no. of spokes the ashok chakra contains but are pretty sure abt the no. of stars in the american flag. War of troy seems to b more interestin than d mahabharata and ramayana. We know everythin abt alexander bt still get confused amongst samudragupta and chandragupta. Classical dance and music is a strict no-no but hardcore rock and latino salsa is jus fine.
I question as to why we feel ashamed to know our culture? Why is it mediocre being an indian and superior being a westerner? Indian culture is somehow not visible amongst us. A western influence is never bad, but the wholesome acceptance is. All the gr8 literature, history, science, et al of india are left completely unknown and untouched.Hope the indians could understand the gr8ness of their culture and experience the ecstasy encapsulated in it..

You Are a Mermaid |
You are a total daydreamer, and people tend to think you're flakier than you actually are. While your head is often in the clouds, you'll always come back to earth to help someone in need. Beyond being a caring person, you are also very intelligent and rational. You understand the connections of the universe better than almost anyone else. |
